“The local elections in Hungary meant symbolic loss for Fidesz”, said Attila Tibor Nagy to German paper Spiegel. The election has shown that people are partially tired of Fidesz and that it is possible to  replace the Orbán-system in the elections to come. That is why Fidesz is now very nervous about the 2022 general election, even if there isn’t  a party crisis. The opposition will have a harder time in the 2022 election than in the local election, as Fidesz has tailored some of the electoral law to its own advantage and uses large state resources in the election campaigns.
